How To Exclude Our Trademarked Terms

It is possible to buy these prohibited search terms—at times without overtly attempting to. Sometimes, a purchased term is used in a “broad search” manner that is not a Keurig trademarked term—rather they are purchasing a related term and Google may automatically assume the purchaser would also like to purchase the Keurig term—thus a violation of the Agreement without knowing it.

For example, a KAD might purchase the term “portion pack coffee” and the AdWords algorithm at Google may automatically place the KAD ad on a search for “K-Cup” because it is a related term. This is considered a breach of the KAD Agreement.

To help prevent this situation, below are instructions on how to exclude our trademarked terms:

  1. Remove the trademarked terms from all ad groups/campaigns.
  2. Add the terms as negative keywords to ad groups/campaigns to block the serving of ads that contain these exact terms. This is done by going to the "Quick Add" keyword tool and putting in these 3 terms but with a "-" sign in front of it. Examples: -Keurig, -k-cup, -k-cups.
